The Day Webster Group is actively seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Hospital Porter in a hospital environment situated in Manchester. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute significantly to the healthcare sector and impact patient care positively.

Salary Information:

  • Day Rate (6am-8pm, Mon-Fri): £12.00/hour, inclusive of holiday pay
  • Night/Saturday Rate (8pm-6am, Mon-Fri & Saturdays): £13.00/hour, inclusive of holiday pay
  • Sunday/Bank Holiday Rate: £17.00/hour, inclusive of holiday pay

Working Hours:

  • Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours, covering Monday to Sunday
  • Shift Patterns Include:
    • Early Morning: 06:00-10:00
    • Day: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00
    • Night: 22:00-06:00
    • Evening: 18:00-22:00 / 19:00-22:00 / 20:00-22:00

About the Role:

As a member of the Portering Team, you'll follow the Supervisory Team's instructions and play an essential role in supporting patient care by safely, timely, and appropriately completing a variety of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transporting patients and equipment within the hospital premises
  • Adhering to all relevant documentation, policies, and procedures
  • Maintenance and cleaning of portering equipment
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment within the hospital
  • Assisting with the hospital's lockdown procedures and security measures
  • Mentoring new team members and supporting in the transportation of hospital equipment
  • Managing waste collection and disposal
  • Supporting hospital security and emergency response activities

Requirements:

  • GCSEs in English & Maths or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 1 in Customer Service or a similar qualification
  • Prior experience in a customer service role
  • Good understanding of the porter role and ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to the position and self-motivation
